After working in the industry for some 15 years I have finally passed all 9 test sections of the Architectural Registration Exam boards. I can now be legally and officially call myself an Architect!
The exams are grueling and I did not pass them all on the first attempt. The only thing good about this economic slow down is that it allowed me time to study and prepare. Before that we were so damn busy. Now we just need the economic tide to turn!
What a relief!

As a fellow architect who has been through the grueling number of tests, I can say from personal experience, CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I know your pain.
I don't think the general public has a real appreciation of the amount of schooling, work experience, and testing that goes into becoming an architect.

Thanks for the accolades. I was surprised to see the official letter today as it generally takes several weeks to get results. The boss man had the office knock off at 4:00 and we all went across the street to grab a few drinks to celebrate. Other co- workers were taken out to a nice dinner with the boss and his wife when they passed, but it 'aint fat times anymore. This was just as special as the whole office was present. It meant a lot!
It has been one of the most challenging efforts I have encountered. It has not really sunk in yet. I will be able to sleep tonight restfully as the past days were filled with angst.
So true! This along with the misconception that Architects make a lot of money (LOL)
I will stay with the same company I am at now. In fact it will be 12 years with them the day after tomorrow. If you ski Summit County you will see a lot of our work. Many of the lodges in Keystone are ours. A lot in Breckenridge can be credited to us including the new lodges at Peak 7 and the ongoing work at the base lodge at Peak 8. many smaller jobs and homes we are proud to call ours.
With the times though, I do not know how long we will last. It is tough to keep an office of 17 open. It is amazing how much it costs just to keep the doors open. We really need a big project to come through the doors.
Larry- I look forward to the day when we can share a beer and I will take you up on your offer.
I am glad to be able to share this good news with all my cyber friends here.

CONGRATULATIONS I know what you have been through, since I am DOA.(2B) Now you can have the interns build the models, doing all nighters. HOw many at your firm are registered?
I have been a tent camper since my Boy Scout days long, long, ago. Now I need to get up off of the cold ground to get a good nights rest, a truck camper seems to be the best choice. I am here to learn as much as I can.
