That sounds great Paul, I really like the idea of manufacturers having a say here. A little one on one should spice things up a bit !
Best of luck with the new forum !!

Hi there,

I am new to this forum and hope to learn a lot about our Bigfoot my wife and me like so much :D ; itīs our second camper and after 7 years with a ComfortCamp on a light duty truck itīs a feeling like being reborn in this one. Unfortunatelly Bigfoots are extremly rare here in Europe (I live in the south of Germany at the edge of the Bavarian Alps) so I just saw another one on the motorway 1 year ago.
All in all we are enthusiastic abut the quality, style and finish of the camper and we like these small ideas you only find on the second view like the indoor storage access.
May be you guys can help me with some questions:
-in the back of the camper I have found brown pickles on the surface that look like rust; what can that be?
-what do you take to clean your Bigfoot? I am doubtfulof damaging the hull.

Welcome Michael

I must say, it IS rare to hear from a Bigfoot owner in Europe! How did you come about aquiring it ?
As for your questions, I can`t imagine what the "rust" stains my be,Possibly industrial fall-out of some sort ? Are they located just on the rear of your camper ? Maybe you ran through something on the highway and it splashed up ?
Cleaning your camper is very easy,I use regular car wash soap (no detergents) and wax it with a good quality wax 1-2 times a year.....It`s that easy !

Hi Bigf00T,

thanks for your reply; Iīll try the car wash soap and I will have it polished as soon as the ice and snow has gone here; at the moment the camper is sleeping in the garage. With the "rust" stains it must be something like you mentioned or do I have the only glassfibre-camper in the world that rusts? :D
I got this rig by occasion from a (moneyloaded?) guy here in Germany who was in Canada in 2000 where he got the used truck and the camper new and brought it over; I guess he lost his interest in that and gave it away last year; when we heard that we immediately sold the ComfortCamp and the truck and got this one and we love it; the idea was born in 1995 when we traveled the US from Miami to SF with a rented tc and thatīs where we got infected with the tc-virus. I would like to show you a picture but till now I donīt know how to proceed this.
The day I win the lottery (next weekend for sure) I will ship it back and just travel, travel, travel ...

Welcome Michael. I don't own a Bigfoot but have to agree I can not see how a Bigfoot shell could rust. You sure have a great place to use it over there. Again welcome :)

Thanks to all; you are amazing.

Maybe I have choosen the wrong words: itīs not rust in the way metal rusts but they are small brown pickles in the rear of the camper. I think Bigf00t is right with his idea of little metallic particles that were dispersed from the road whiledriving and then reacted with water; Iīll keep you informed

compliments sometimes; much more often I see open mouthes and big eyes (but believe me: thatīs not why we got this one) here but when i read about your truck I could get used to this one too; I checked out one here and in my eyes GM did a big step with the new one

Yes, GM did a great job with this current truck, LOTS of power combined with a bullet proof allison transmission makes it an awesome ride !
I hope to post a picture of my set-up once I uncover my camper and put it on the truck........stay tuned !

sure; i spent a lot of time and €s making my truck giving up some bad habbits that are well known (stalling, non starting, wiper motor failing) but now itīs reliable and gives us a smooth and powerful ride compared to the mini mitsubishi truck we had before
