Well power back on after only two days this time. I was in the chair and heard a huge roar I thought it was a big deisel boat because the trees wern't moving then it hit. The trees were bent over and the freeking wind was howiling and the rain was the hardest I have seen since VietNam. I had water in the camper and the furnace worked so we had heat and could shower. Backed the truck up behind the house and still had to put the jacks down. The fellow behind us had part of his roof blow away(new house.) The ground is so satureted that trees just can't stand up to the wind and pull out of the ground. We didn't have that many trees down on the island because anything that could fall happened last week during the snow storm. Golly gee whiz the wind is starting to blow again YIPPEE!!!%$#@. Oh well I guess things could be worse I could live where the temps are 75 all the time with NO SNOW or flipping RAIN but someebody has to do it. I would put a smiley here but what the He..!

Glade to hear all is well I was getting ready to load up Honda and head up your way.

Well Boys and Gals it's out to the camper to put the jacks down again!

Dean, glad to hear you and Carol are OK, was beginning to wonder as we did not get any posting from you. I guess the camper is a real life boat in times like this. By the way, it was 81 here today, but like you said, someone has to do it.

We kept our power throughout. The paper today said they clocked winds at 157 Km/hr, That's about 110 mph, I think, 10 km an hour more than Typhoon Freida which did tons of damage in the 60's. A lot of century old trees are down in Vancouver & Stanley Park.

Well here we are 36 hours in tho this outage. Sure glad Hazel said buy a generator last winter. Our 8KW generator runs everything here, Getting 15 hours on 7 gals of gas, sure glad I decided to use propane on all large load appliances.

My thanks go out to all lineman and electricians working tirelessly through this outage.

Stanley Park is devastated. They are now saying about 1000 trees destroyed. This is (or was) considered one of the worlds most beautiful city Parks.

WOW, that to bad we love that park when we visit Vancouver. How did Vancouver island fair in the wind storm? Our Whidby Island took a big hit, the even closed Deception Pass bridge during the high winds.

Well - I at least got to see a lineman today - Unfortunately he was looking and leaving He was surprised to see all the trees and lines down as his "book" showed us restored 3 days ago..... Gotta love rural life. We are using about .6 gallons an hour BUT so far I've packed almost 160 gallons in by hand and I started with 165 gallons.. Just think of the exercise. They say maybe today - of course it is the fourth or fifth time they have said that.

Yeah, Stanley Park is like Central park to New Yorkers. Its pretty unique among City parks, especially with its sandy beaches & huge trees right in the middle of downtown.

The interstate system of highways is fine for getting where you need to be in a hurry, but it's the road less traveled that is more enjoyable. Take in the scenery before life passes you by in a blur.

Temp dropped from 34 to 26 in 2 hours and the freaking wind is picking up again. Before it got dark you could see white caps in Saratoga passage which means it is blowing 15 to 18 knots. The power is still on and it has not flickered so maybe its just the normal stuff. But I don't remember it being this cold BRRRRR!!!
