Hey Sally, I believe you do have to clean it off. We don't get snow here, but heavy rains interfere with the signal and my brother has mentioned being out cleaning off his satellite in the snow in Virginia.

One of the few good things about winter...sitting in front of a roaring blaze in the fireplace!

When we had our first storm a few weeks ago I lost the tv signal. I checked the dish and it was covered in snow. I knocked it off and the signal came back.
When life gives you lemons, go camping anyway!!

Sally, I was out about 7 last night with three car wash/mop handles taped to gether so as to reach the dish on the peek of the roof.
As of this morning we have 7 inches. We lost power just after mid-night and started the big geen in the shop.

Paul, if you were in Toronto right now you would be basking in the sunshine at plus 14c (or about 57 farenheit for us pre-metric types). I'm just across the end of the lake from there, and it's outside-chores-in-a-t-shirt time. :)

Hi Bud
We have some great Saskatchewan weather moving in that we sampled from our neighbours.
We had fitting weather for a weekend hockey tournament at -28C (-19) and we would gladly like to share it with you. We even have some non-sticky snow also to pass on, you'll love it. :D
The hockey was great and some Saskatchewan Tuff Hockey players had a great time also.

They have very few snowplows here and not too many people have snow tires on, judging by the roads out there.

Guess we got you beat by a small amount Paul. One inch of snow brings out the highway snowplows at 6 in the morning on a Sunday. We can't have a Hockey Tournament cancelled because of a skif of snow, that's just not going to work for our up and coming junior players. The good thing is, all the out of town people have no snowy mountains to navigate. :D

We got about 8" total. No power most of the day and the phone service was out for quite a while too.

Thank goodness for our generator!!!!!! We siphoned extra gas from the boat tank to keep us going. I've had the refrigerator plugged in and now the DSL router and computer are plugged in, too. We watched a DVD earlier since we still can't get the satellite to work. We are thinking that because of the weight of the snow, several trees are now likely blocking the signal. We've cleaned the dish off but still no signal. All day long we've been listening and watching big branches breaking off.

It sure is pretty outside, BUT I HATE WINTER! Whew. I feel better now.

The interstate system of highways is fine for getting where you need to be in a hurry, but it's the road less traveled that is more enjoyable. Take in the scenery before life passes you by in a blur.

Well Paul, it's been a winter wonderland here on Van Isle as well. This white shit is for the birds. I didn't sign up for this at all. Man I feel for you Vancouver types, ie: floods, wind and just for shits and giggles, a boil water advisement, now a shit-locker full of snow and to add insult to injury the mighty CANUCKS are playin' like yesterdays "bush league team". Oh well, buck up my friend, as things will get better...................Steve...

One thing for sure, Steve, that new truck is not leaving my driveway. I saw a few duallies out there today. It wasn't pretty. Those heated leather seats are actually quite nice though.

I don't blame you a bit as we had 2 Dodge dually's in the ditch on the way to work today. My 2500 does real well in the snow and ice with the addition of those new Michelin A/T 245/75R16 LTXs I bought last summer. Add this one...I chatted with my mom earlier and she had to rub it in that it was 86 degrees F in Brownsville today. I hope it snows again when she's here for Christmas.

Looks like they are calling for more snow tonight and tomorrow for our area.

It was nuts today at work. People are wondering why we ran out of most sizes of snow tires......

Why do people always wait till there is a foot of snow on the ground before they realize.....Hey, maybe I should think of getting snow tires this year. ??? jeeeeze. :)

Your right on all counts on that Big
We had the studded winter tires mounted 3 weeks ago. I actually beat the snow and ice one week before winter rolled in on us. :) Keeps the wife happy that she can drive through anything. I even had my traction control installed, two 80lbs steal slabs and 200lbs of salt keeps the 4x2 movin most of the time. :)

We just know that its no big deal if you write off a Dodge, they are already suited for the junk yard, anyway. Now, a Chevy, you don't want to risk one of those.
