Cant believe my post on this tank died such a fast death over at RV.net. If you can make propane tanks out of this stuff think of the possibilities in the camper manufacturing process!

lighter than conventional tanks
same size as conventional tanks
see threw so you can see the propane level
stronger than steel
DOT aproved
supposedly wont explode like a heated steel tank. will melt and "just" catch fire
outside carrier comes in different colors and has levels marked on it
came from Sweden-the old owners of Manchester tanks brought it over
will be manufactured in USA
Rhino, the popular exchange tank people have reportedly put in an order for 250,000
The one I handled didnt seem to have any OPD device. Could be because you can see the level as you fill it.

Wish I had money to invest in these. Sure I would be filthy rich when they catch on.

They look great. They would have to have an OPD valve in some states. See through or not.

Being a non conductive material, I wonder if the would require a grounding strap or metal conductor on it? Any indication of weight savings or cost?

ChopperBill, thanks for bringing this tank discover information up, hope you will keep us posted. I would buy a pair just to be able to see how much propane I have in a tank. I tried the web site, but it did not work, my screen froze trying to open an Adobe reader file. Thanks---

Friend of ours sent home a BPN magazine(butane-propane news) with my wife. Great article. States this is the biggest news the industry has seen in 60 years. He has ordered 26 tanks to sell. Don't have all the details but will know more in a few days.

I sent them mail a week ago with no response. A friend of mine (a relative of the old Manshall tank owner) has ordered 26 of them as previously stated. He had to order over 25 to get a deal, still the price is going to be closer to $60 with the incoming freight. Don't know exactly or what freight will be going out. They are starting to get a little pricey. Volume will make the price fall at later dates, I'm sure.

Talked to the guy tonight that is getting the tanks. Will be here end of March. Still being made in Sweden. Out side carrier I believe is made in the US. First container of tanks will arrive in Tennessee and be shipped out from there. Will start making them in the US this year. Bad news: They have already gone up to around $65 plus freight. They are hopeful that production in the US will drive the price down.

I don't think UV is an issue. I haven't seen a tank mounted on an outside ladder in years.
