Paul, So sorry to hear about this! Yikes. Here I thought the site not being up for a few days was bad. Now I realize there are plenty of worse things. As has been said, if I can do anything....just let me know...

Good luck getting your stuff back.

Paul, sorry to hear of your problem. After watching the RCMP "investigate" the break in at Interior RV last year, I would not assume that getting your property back is a sure bet. I think Bob assumed he was going to get all of his tools back as well, but even some of the items taken form his shop, when ID'ed by him, were never returned. If you want an quality investiagtion, I can be had, but not cheaply.

Paul, Real sorry to hear about the theft of your stuff. I'm all for serious punishments when these types get convicted. I'm gone for a month but my daughter is housesitting with a Rem 1100 and she spooks easily. Better go as my blood pressure is rising.

Was it last year you had the water pipes burst? Sheesh, you really do have bad luck when you leave.

Sorry to hear about it; hope recovery works out. To think it's someone you know just kills me.....I hope at least it's just "someone you know" and not a "friend."

It's probably too late now, but one year growing up we had pretty big plans for a west-coast trip after our summer in Montana when we found out the house got robbed. Instead of going anyway, we went straight home to deal with it. There wasn't much to deal with other than making lists, fixing broken stuff etc. My parents were always sorry that we didn't do the trip anyway as it was an oppurtunity we didn't take and you can never go back and do it later....kids get older etc. On the other hand, in this case, knowing the crook and being able to get some of your stuff back etc....maybe this is one case where it would be an advantage to get back quickly to deal with it.

Damn this makes you mad!

The good news is: if your truck is not recovered, you may be getting that new dually sooner than you thought. Sorry for your incident. I know that sick feeling that all vicitims get, regardless of the type of crime or the amount lost. The worst part is the "violated" feeling.

I'm on board for the "street justice" party also, just give us a time and place. Think you can hold onto this guy till the next TC show?

Seriously, you might want to let us know what kind of stuff you don't get back. I'm sure plenty of us have extra stuff laying around that we could donate like tools, etc. Maybe we can help you out with some of it. I don't know, just an idea.

Well, I have the truck back, no damage. I have identified the location of about 85% of my stuff in pawn shops and am in the process of recovering it. Cash Convertors sold all the big ticket items the day after they got them. They legally have to hold them 30 days. In case my insurance is void since the perp had a key, I will be hiring a lawyer to take them to court. My brand new $1800 washer and dryer was sold for $200 to a second hand appliance store (POCO appliance mart) . Have the RCMP looking into them. At least they will get tagged as a business accepting stolen goods. I went to the location with the perp who idenified the 2 store owners as having helped him unload them 4 days ago. They claimed they had never seen him. The individal who stole everthing is remorseful and is helping me find stuff (hard not to kill him, but since he checked into a rebab center, they will not let him be with me without an escort in case I want to deck him, which I do.). Unbeknownst to me, it turns out he is a crack addict. I am pressing charges.

If you ever buy a flare gun for your portaboat, you know some locations to celebrate with it on New Year's Eve.

Just a thought, of course.
