We are about to take first trip with our dog. Would like to keep her kennel in back seat of truck and pass thru windows open. Has anyone come up with a good way to fill the gap between camper and truck?

Lance sells a foam-like seal specifically designed to fit your truck and camper. Must order through a Lance Dealer though. I have one and it works great.

Ditto on the foam boot, mine works great also, but have not travelled with the truck and camper windows open.
Family health problem, necessitated us to give up our TC and Truck and purchase a 2006 Pleasureway Plateau Class B, 22 foot motorhome, on a Dodge Sprinter with 2.7 diesel engine, fully self contained with Onan gen.

I don't travel with animals but I have read somewhere that people have used an inflatable pool ring. The kind kids play with. Just wedge it between the truck and camper and inflate to keep it in place. Supposed to work real well.

Don't have the experience myself ... but have heard that the boots will rub the paint off the truck after awhile -- any of you guys have that problem ever?

We use an inflatable kids swim ring & drape a towel over the inside so it does not puncture. Stuff it in then blow it up when in place to make it tight. No problem with paint, etc.

Think I will give the Lance boot a go. Just need to find a dealer that will ship as I will not do business with local dealer. Thanks you all for the responses.

Do you all think that the Lance Boot will work in my Host camper, or is it made to fit only the Lance? If you do find someone to ship it to you could you let me know. I would like to get one also.

Do any of you that travel with pets have a Barrier gate between the front and back seat? or do the cats and dogs just stay in the back seat? I think I would like to travel with them in the back seat with the litter box on the floor on one side and the food on the other and a sleeping area on the seat. Keeping the pass thru window closed while driving. Any ideas?

We travel with our dogs in the back seat. We lift the arm rest between the front seats if we don't want them hanging their heads over us. But they're too big to use the pass thru window (if we had one on our truck). They just curl up on each side of the floor. I've learned to put one of those moving blankets on the floor of the truck because on long rides the floor gets really hot. The moving blanket does a great job of insulating the floor.

Paul, you have to go to or call a Lance Dealer to order it. However, Lance ships it directly to you.

I went to Lance's website and emailed them asking about the boot. I emailed them 4 days ago and still have not gotten a response. This is the second time I have emailed them and had no response. Is there any one monitoring there emails?

Our dogs always stay in the back seat, and are too big to move between truck and camper. Sometimes they cheat and start sneaking into the front seat:

I have e-mailed them before with no response  This will be my last Lance.

I don't think that Lance is all that "computer savvy" just yet or maybe they're flooded with emails. They have always returned my phone calls and always on the same afternoon. Their number is 661-949-3322. They also have a toll free # but I don't have it in my phone book.

There was someone trying to sell a Lance boot over on the "other" forum yesterday but BradW closed the thread for obvious reasons. I think it's still there though if you take a look. You may be able to PM him.

My boot works great. I bought it with my 835 and moved it to the 981. Goes on easily when loading the TC (as long as you remember to put it in before the TC is completely loaded.) It is 'squeezed' between the TC and the truck.

Thanks....that's Jasper the sneaky one. I am not actually sure who made it. My buddy bought a Litecraft popup TC here in Denver (I think they make them right there) and he got it with that purchase....who knows if they make them or get them through somebody else.

I have off and on thought about trying to 'thicken' it up somehow but honestly my wife is nervous about riding in the back anyway and we usually would rather stop from time to time...so when we want into the back we just stop.
