One item in the federal budget (Canada) yesterday that went unnoticed is a proposal to place a heavy tax on vehicles like SUV's & PU's & use that tax to lower pirces on fuel efficient cars. Something to do with meeting the Kyoto accord. Anyone else hear anything about this? I'm wondering if I should upgrade my truck sooner than I want to.

Ya know somethin' guys we might even convert ole Tater to the good side. One of y'all on the Caravan could let him testdrive a Kingmax and then he probably couldn't get to a daelership to trade that Cum-a-part fast enough. Only one concern I have is could he handle the power after what he has now?? Just teasin' ya, Tater, but then again......Steve... :D

Well, I'm trying to put off a new truck for 3 more years. I know it will be my last one, so the longer I wait, the better. I will look at the performance & record for all 3 in the preceeding year before buying. It's a lot of money, especially since I plan on replacing the camper shortly afterwards, if Bob is still maintaining quality. If it was today, it would be a GM. 3 years from now, who knows? I'm not brand loyal, I just want the most truck for the buck. If I"m lucky the increase in my RRSP's (401K) over the next 3 years will cover it. They have sure done well this year (18%). Finally convinced the wife a diesel dually is the way to go (almost).

Last year while camping & quadding about 2 hours south of Edson, Alberta we met up with a Fish & Wildlife officer.
He told up that it's a big issue with all of the camping that's done for free (boondocking/dry camping/random camping) whatever you want to call it. The governments upset and they want to start a yearly fee for random camping. Rumour is, we would have to pay around $100 per year and have the permit visible on your units at all times. Otherwise a big fine.
Geez. what next?
