Does anyone know if any hard sided truck campers come in a low enough height to get under parking garages? I’m trying to find the lowest profile truck camper that is hard sided.

The bed of your truck will be 2.5-3’ off the ground, truck cab height will be an additional 3-3.5’ and most parking garages are 6-7’ tall. This does not give any room room for a hard side or even many pop-ups. If you have vents, antennas or air conditioning on the roof, those items make the camper even higher.

Depends on the height of the parking garage. Are you blonde?
I have been a tent camper since my Boy Scout days long, long, ago. Now I need to get up off of the cold ground to get a good nights rest, a truck camper seems to be the best choice. I am here to learn as much as I can.

Yikes!
My 3500 wouldn’t fit in most parking decks even without the camper.
But yeah, i’d Say a Northstar Liberty would be a good example of a ‘low’ non-pop up camper.
On the back of your F250 you’d still be at about 10’8" tall.

And Michelle...

The lowest hard side models will be ones with no basement and minimal rooftop items adding to the height. My guess would be the garages you use would have to be 10' or greater in height to clear the lowest hard side camper.

Speaking of which. . .

Bedlam,

What are the height clearance numbers on your rig?

I didnt notice it in your signature.

Thanks.

As info...

My little non-basement Arrow-U is 11'3" on the truck. That's including the A/C unit.

My deck height is 3.5' and Host says my camper is 9.5' tall this would make it 13', but I measure slightly higher at the tallest point and call 13.5' clear. Here you can see me parked with the semi's.

Thirteen/five, Nice...

Anything under the DOT 13'6" standard makes life a lot simpler.

And that is a perfect height comparison shot.  :fing32:

Thanks.

I was trying to remember this name yesterday. CAPRI CAMPERS. Made in Texas. TC Magazine runs an article on them every once in a while. They are a short hard sided camper. I’m not sure if low enough to get into a parking garage, but maybe if you make a high speed run for it.............

Alaskan TCs' top slides down over the bottom half to lower overall length while on the road. Maybe one of them would fit, but I doubt it.

Hmm...

Looks like the OP hit us with one post and left the party. :(

Cant help but wonder if she found a hard-side camper that would fit in a parking deck?
