I have been looking at mid 90's campers that fit my 3000.00 budget and came across a 2000 Arctic fox 9.5 foot with dinette slide and wet bathroom.  Its over my budget but I was looking at it for more of a long term after school investment. Plus the owner is flexible on price since it needs work

My question is when the slide is in, the lead edge is pointing up to the ceiling when you are looking on the inside. As it slides out it seems to level out but the awning isn't rolling up straight either? I'm sorry I did not notice if the distance is equal on the outside when it is in or out but will take a tape with me next time I look at it.

Also the plywood under the drain hoses and propane tank needs to be replaced and tips beyond trying to find where the leak is coming from?   I did not feel any rot through the fiberglass but will take a closer look for delamination and rot. Any other tips?

Has a small air pocket on roof but caulking looks good.... I'll take a closer look next visit.   In side no stains I noticed but I did not feel around for rot which I will....

Inside it is mint which is why I am considering it and as a carpenter/ home mechanic by trade I feel I can tackle most issues.

Whole story :

I am looking at living in a camper during nursing school in the pacific northwest.... fairly dry area since we live/home about 1 1/4 hr drive away.

I'll be putting it on my wood truck flat bed that a carry 1 1/2 cords of wood on with E rated tires.... yes it's a heavy half 1981 but I updated the rear end and leaf springs to carry that much weight... dead standing Larch. I'll update the front coils as well before a put the camper on it.....

I also moved my inlaws 10.5 foot Bigfoot camper from Coeur D alene to Sandpoint ( 60 miles) before I had there 3/4 dodge front end finished in which it now sits on.  So I know the truck can take the weight for the limited time and distance I'll be driving with it on, with that said

any input appreciated....

I have been looking at:

Lance

Shawdow Cruiser

Fleetwood Caribou

 8 to 9.5 feet long

and just found a 1995 cascade manufacturing  anyone heard of those?    I'll be checking it out friday   Thanks !!

Well It looks like the welds have failed on the AF, which is why the slide looks strange... but while looking at it I found a 1999 S and S  9.5 ft in mint offered 2500.00    Waiting to hear from the owner ...
