There are 2 rigs going for sure.

I am thinking about next year to do the usual spring wine tour in Walla Walla. A change up from Prosser after several years. That's next year though.

Why are all the NATCOA events in the Pacific Northwest?
I have been a tent camper since my Boy Scout days long, long, ago. Now I need to get up off of the cold ground to get a good nights rest, a truck camper seems to be the best choice. I am here to learn as much as I can.

Pete, you hit the nail on the head.  Sally and I are currently in the 1.5 year process of organizing a large rally for around 170 folks in Kennewick, WA this fall for our Grand Design RV owners group.  For those who have not organized such a rally they have no idea the amount of time and work that goes in to organizing a successful event for those who attend.

We have done a couple for NATCOA in the past on a smaller scale. We had an event in Colorado a few years ago for the 10th anniversary of NATCO.  For us that is east.  :-)

RV Rally's don't appear out of thin air.

Why are all the NATCOA events in the Pacific Northwest?

As other replies have said...pretty much sums it up. I have offered a few times to give guidance / suggestions on doing a rally to anyone who wishes to set one up elsewhere in the country. No one else really wishes to set one up at this time. I live in the Pacific Northwest and am hosting the events so...they are in my basic area. I have no problem with 3-4 hours away from home to do a rally. I will go much farther to attend one but to be the host I need to be closer. Lots of logistics involved.

I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if you want ever want to host a rally. I could help with information.

Hmm... I live in Jersey. (rest of the family is in Lower Manhattan) See below...

Manhatten-_B-0002.jpg

Some fun facts...

1.) I'm about as far East as you can go without being in the Atlantic Ocean. Sometimes when hurricane season hits, I actually "am" in the Atlantic Ocean.

2.) Truck camper meets are mighty rare in these parts... Probably because truck campers are pretty rare in these parts.

3.) Oregon? Not exactly sure where that is but it sounds real far from here. Probably a beautiful place though.  :fing32:

4.) These guys ---> https://www.truckcamping.net/ <--- Next time they hit Gettysburg, PA I'm in!

Just jostling the thread a little.  :)

Peace,

I still work full time, so my distance is limited to about the Mississippi River until retirement. Doug has some good Midwest gatherings if you want to meet up with some friendly people. We’re doing our best to see everything within 2000 miles until we have more time to explore.

I’m in a similar position with work / schedule / family but my range is a lot less than 2000 miles.
Here in the East most RVs are weekend warriors. Lots of travel trailers and rented class-C vehicles. Thus truck campers are somewhat rare. If I pull into a campsite here I’m usually guaranteed to be the only truck camper in the place, and the center of curiosity.

After I’m retired (completely) I will certainly head to the Pacific Northwest to meet the NATCOA crew. I’ll probably learn a lot from ‘real’ truck camper people.

Thanks for the friendly reply to my rather odd post up there, :)

We left home in September for our Arizona destination.  We plan to return north in April.  We should be there in time for the rally but it's too soon to tell.

What is Lower Manhattan? Is that some type of cocktail?
Oregon is where people on the east coast get their weed. That’s assuming the NE cops don’t bust them on I 80.

Lower Manhattan? Well, it's a lot of things...
Tribeca, Little Italy, China Town, The Battery, and after that your in the Hudson River. :P

BTW... Nebraska aint exactly close to the Pacific Northwest either. Just saying.

Sorry I got us so far off topic.
I'm heading back to the new members section. There's a guy asking if he can put a Lance 1172 in his Ford Ranger if he adds a set of air bags.
Should be an interesting read.  :fing32:

We left home in September for our Arizona destination.  We plan to return north in April.  We should be there in time for the rally but it's too soon to tell.

Where in AZ?   I know we haven't seen your signature rig.

We are currently at Organ Pipes Cactus NM, and would recommend it for nice hiking.

There are actually quite a few truck campers here, but we have the Nash TT.

Our home base is in Cave Creek.  Currently we are in Oacaxa, Mexico and will be camping in the Chiricahua area of Arizona probably sometime around the end of the month.
