Well , after over a year of looking at all types of rvs , and reading all kinds of praises and complaints on just about everything and every brand , its enough to make a smart person call it quits and just stay in cabins and hotels. However I've been told that when they ask if I wanted brains , I thought they said trains , I said yes make my a long slow one. LOL. Anyways , if the best half agrees I decided on a truck camper. Since I have to start by buying both , truck and camper , I know to get camper and then buy the truck to match it. Concerning camper , everybody has their favorites and the ones they would rather forget. Is there any out there , regardless of cost and fancy do-das that a person should avoid. Which company actually has a good customer service department and will honestly answer questions with real solutions and not mumbo-jumbo.
good quality camper.

Well, as you kind of mentioned...things are based on personal experience. I for one love Adventurer / Eagle Cap but some have had issues. It is like anything...some prefer this and others do not.
What I would check into is...how is the support of the RV dealer (if you plan on buying from a dealer) in your area. How far away is the manufacturer from your home? Are you lucky enough to be fairly close to the plant? Ohio (as per your info)...I think it will be a drive no matter. Check into the reviews of the dealer. If not buying from a dealer then obviously there will not be any warranty. Hmm...google reviews and such then take what the average of the reviews are is about all I can say.
love everyday like you won the lotto.

If you go see mike jones he is a great guy to work with. We bought our Adventure from him 2 months ago we just love it had a few hic-ups but to be expected. Just say the Tedford's sent you we may get 200 from him its worth a try. Before you buy a TC sit stand move about both of you try to pass each other climb into the bunks try every thing out. some getting into the dinnit is hard others its easy sitting on the throne you feel you fall off. There is a nice campground about 30 min from mike's And eat at Bob Evens restrunt cant go wronge.
I got it fixed!

While I am NOT an experienced camper, I can certainly say I am an experienced shopper.
Long story short: I just spent about 3 years traveling to RV shows, visiting dealers lots, and speaking to factory reps & owners in an attempt to find my ultimate Truck Camper.
My primary requirements were maneuverability (i.e. fits a short bed truck), also stealthy (i.e. full black-out capable), and finally, true 4 season usability (not just a 4-season sticker and a sales pitch).
Some of the many units I investigated:
*Arctic Fox--- http://northwoodmfg.com/truck-campers/
*Host Industries--- [url]https://www.hostcampers.com/
Above is only the “short list” so you can see why it took so long to research this!
And the answer is. . .
I bought a Northstar Arrow-U at Truck Camper Warehouse in New Hampshire.
It fits my little RAM 3500 shortbed rather nicely. has incredible durability, and complete stealth.
As for warranty service, and repairs…
Both Rex Willett at Northstar and the crew at Truck Camper Warehouse are legendary in the industry for their support.
Of all the units I looked at I do have this nagging feeling that I went just a little to big for my needs. I cant help but think that the smaller Northstar Liberty might have been a better choice and a better fit for my lifestyle, but that’s no fault of Northstar.
