Don't forget to ride the stumpdodger ;).   There was a nice RV park at one time in Sumpter right across from the tracks she runs on and only a couple miles down from the Dredge and the Sumpter Valley narrow gauge railroad.

When you say local RV Park, I'm assuming you mean the Dewitt Museum Depot Park?

Yes but that has to wait to be sure it will have spots. That is where smokejumpers base out of for any local fires. Lets hope no fires next summer.

Found the park I stayed at, its named Sumpter Pines RV Park, right down the road from the Dredge and the narrow gauge railroad in Sumpter, OR, and might work better than the Dewitt Museum and RV Park in Prarie City.

When we were there in Sumpter a couple months ago, I did not have time to look at the place but know where you are talking about. For sure a place to keep in mind. Thanks!

It was a rather nice park, with ATV trails directly accessible from it as well.   Its the nicer full hookup park of the two in Sumpter, The Gold Rush park is a bit of a funky park, not really all that great, or at least it wasn't when I stayed there last.

It is official....there will be a tour of the Northwood plant during the rally. There will also be a couple of the campers they make on display during the rally. In addition, a salesman will be on site doing a presentation of the campers and answering questions. That will be at a set time on one of the rally days.

Thank you Northwood Manufacturing for supporting the rally!

At this time there are 12 rigs signed up for the rally.

In addition to a presentation by Northwood Manufacturing and Torklift working on logistics of attending, we have another presentation that will be done at the rally.

It will be SkyMed. A travel insurance company. They will be doing a short presentation and sponsoring a wine and cheese meeting.

Here is a link to the website for them; https://www.skymed.com/

More things to come for the rally! Still plenty of room for you to sign up for this event.

If you have something you would like to do for a presentation, let me know.  I might do one on geocaching for those interested.

love everyday like you won the lotto.

I have been a tent camper since my Boy Scout days long, long, ago. Now I need to get up off of the cold ground to get a good nights rest, a truck camper seems to be the best choice. I am here to learn as much as I can.

The tour at the Northwood plant will be July 12th @ 11:00am. You must not have open toed shoes to do the tour. The plant will provide safety glasses that must be worn. The plant also can get loud at times and if you want ear protection they ask you bring your own.

I will be sending out emails to attendees later on but here is an update for the pre rally tour mentioned before.

I have reserved a group site at The Union Creek Campground. Group site GD.  Date is for the evening of July 10th.

The site is a paved back in parking with no hookups. It will accept up to 15 rigs. Basically a parking lot back in for the nights stay. There is a huge area behind parking with tables and waterfront views of the lake.

That campground is along the Sumpter Stage Highway. 10 miles east of the Sumpter dredge. Morning of July 11th we will tour the dredge. Afterwards we will travel up to La Grande for the start of the rally.

If you wish to stay at the group site you MUST contact me. I need to insure we have room for you.

A change to local events...  The La Grande Crazy days car show will be 20-22 July.  July 12 to 15, Baker City is hosting the (final) Hells Canyon Motorcycle Run and none of the event sponsors want to interfere with the others events...  Still lots of stuff to do in the area...  ATV trails..

I will be emailing everyone who signed up soon. I am crosschecking my sign up list with who has made reservations at the resort. I am showing several have not made reservations yet. It is very important to do so. I do not want to see someone show up and not get a site.

Right now I show 24 rigs signed up for the rally.

If you have any questions simply let me know. Everyone who signed up via the link would have got an email from me also. SO if you wish to send an email to me, feel free to do so.
