One advantage is there is additional storage capabilities.  I built a platform at the front of the bed to block any shift of the camper forward.

Then after the camper was loaded this is what became available.

A couple of heavy-duty plastic storage bins and then room for a couple of bag-chairs.  A couple of drop in side-boards (the far side board is in place) will prevent the chairs from sliding out during travel.

My Fast-Guns would not adjust to reach the hold-down bracket so I added these few chain links.

I added Rieco-Titan E-Z swing brackets to my front jacks but had to add a 2" spacer to clear our awning arm bracket.  I used stainless steel plate for the extension as I didn't have time to properly prep and paint.

Then here we are ready to roll.

We have been 5th wheel campers for the past 17 years which is what this back yard RV pad was built for, including electric outlet.  Now we are looking forward to a new traveling style.

Looks good. You may be able to swap left and right front tie downs so the offset is more to the rear (if you haven't already). This will lessen the angle of the turn buckle and may also reduce the distance you need with chain.

Thanks, I will look at swapping the front tie downs next time I reload the camper.  Then I will need to find a large set of bolt cutters to remove the excess links.  I bought these pieces of chain before I loaded to camper and was just guessing on how much was needed.  The hold down on the drivers side already clears the fuel door now so that is nice.
