I not worried about the campfire so much as I am about the fire poker duel between Farmer and Mr. Firewood. Sparks may be flying! :fighting0040:

Planning is coming together.   We are sorting out our contribution to Sat. evening potluck and working with Rich and Joanne to finalize the Sunday morning breakfast for all.  I just picked up fresh pork sausage from my neighbor for delicious sausage gravy on biscuits along with scrambled eggs, juice and coffee Sunday morning.

Sally and I plan to bring a platter of spiral cut ham for the potluck so if any is left over it will also be available for breakfast for the group.

See you all later this week.

I need to go load firewood and my new POKER Sally had forged for me!  Got to keep up with the Jones's or Laws  :-)

Hope you all have a great time. We'll be doing the Port Angeles Crab and Seafood Festival this year. Trying to alternate places for Fall Colors adventuring. We'll be staying at Salt Creek County Park in the Standard section, no hookups for us. Drive out the old Juan De Fuca straight highway, return via 101 to view Crescent lake and the fall trees reflecting on the water finished by a drive up to Hurricane Ridge for a spectacular panoramic view. Plus it's a decent festival and I want to eat crab and drink wines grown on the peninsula.

Sounds like fun Jeff.  I used to live over there down in Shelton, WA and made many trips around the Oly Penn.  Owned a house in Shelton, rented in Hoodsport, hotel'ed for work in Forks and Quinault.

I remember making a trip up to Hurricane Ridge as a tween and my stepfather let me use his Super 8 movie camera.  I made a movie up there.  As I recall I was a terrible videographer.

Have fun at the crab and seafood festival.

Thanks George,

I'd like to try for a rally using this route for fall colors sometime or just a good old summer rally.

People would really enjoy this much overlooked part of the state.

Sequim Bay SP is a good place as it is on a long bike trail. There is a B-Ball field, tennis, basket ball, boating, fishing. Lots of stuff.

The drive up to and walking around Hurricane Ridge is the crown to this trip.

Salt Creek is similarly good and both parks have standard to full hookups.

Jeff,

campfire ban was lifted for spring canyon campground as of october 1st. that is where we will stop for the night tomorrow night. looks like a little bit of fire wood needs to be loaded up.

we load up the clothes and a couple other things tonight. ill drive the camper to work and leave right at 430 tomorrow.

it will be easy loading since we will have our van on this trip too. the camper gets dropped off at adventurer on monday so we need it to help bring some items home.

love everyday like you won the lotto.

Saturday side trip...the quilt stores in Winthrop and Twisp. Oooh la la for some of us. I have a vehicle available for driving.

George is up for a round of golf on Saturday although the forecast is not looking too spiffy. :-(  I believe Bear Creek has a driving range now.

Just called the golf course and their t-time schedule is wide open.  Driving range is $6.00 for a bucket of 50 balls, $10.00 for 100 balls.  Only issue is weather so we'll see how it looks Sat. AM and go from there.

I'm working on hiring my caddie for the round.

Update:  I've secured a caddie for Saturday's round at Bear Creek Golf and Country Club.  They do have a dress code, you must wear them!
