Things must be going good in Albta to implement Freedom 48! :D Enjoy the freedom. What did your boss say when he heard you were pull the pin? I can imagine the planning sheet for TC tours is flurry of activity now. If my wife finds out you retired, she is going to be very envious of you! I'll tell her, we should have moved to Albta in 1982 when we had the chance.
Have fun, you'll be busier than before!

You're right there are tons of jobs here if one wants to work. Our housing has also skyrocketed the last couple of years.

Dear Snowy,

I retired in 1991, at 42. Started an RV factory and still feel retired. Everyone else does the work and I get to do the fun things. Wife is still nagging me to get a real job.

Semi-retired. Worked in the same company for 37 years. My retirement went down the tubes with them except for what I put away. Work for another dealer now 25 hours a week. Pays more than most jobs at 40 hours. Come and go as I please. Great for camping season. Don't work in January so thats why we can take a month off for warmer climates. Wife has a great job that keeps me in beer money. My adopted Dad in Penticton BC will take care of me in the twilight years. :D

I guess the big question is...do you enjoy what you're doing??
It doesn't seem like a "job" then. (no comment from you Chopper, otherwise this will get deleted):D
Me, I was getting to the point of really not enjoying my last couple of years at work (the first 20 or so years were great). I guess all you retired people on the caravan were a bad influence on me. :D

The responses have all been very interesting...thanks.

Chopper,
Ouch, that sucks about the pension. At least here in Canada, pensions are all very strictly monitored and cannot be touched by the employeer, only by the employee and within certain guidelines.
