Pacific Northwest Spring Rally April 12, 13, 14, 2013

Pacific Northwest Spring Rally at Deception Pass State Park. Here's the link to Deception Pass.

WHERE TO STAY:
As for campsite locations, we reserved site number 166 and would like to try and keep the rally group in the area of site numbers 158-169. I selected a standard site to give the TC and it's systems a good off grid run for the money. If people want to get a site with power and water, my suggestions are, 21 and 24-28. If people want to be self contained, no power or water, my suggestions are, 158-169 where we will setup camp in site 166. On the reservation page, enter the dates for April 12, 13, 14. You can then see what is available and also click on each sites green circle or triangle to get information about each site including a picture.
You are responsible for your own reservation and I suggest making it sooner than later, especially if you want a power and water campsite.

WHAT TO DO:
Saturday the 13th, my plan is to see the PACCAR Technical Center open house event from 11:00 AM till 3:00 PM http://www.tulipfest...ndar/event/517/ , followed by a drive around the Tulip fields afterward http://www.tulipfestival.org/ . Then on the way back to the campground, swing into the Skagit Valley's Farmhouse Restaurant and get a couple of their fantastic pies to share back at camp.
Sunday would be the day to go to Tulip Town and Rozengaard to walk around the fields.
Goodbye's and departure for home from there.

For those interested, we always go to the Skagit Valley's Farmhouse Restaurant http://www.thefarmho....net/index.html for a nice dinner after everything before heading home. Anyone interested is welcome to join us.

For those not interested in any events and just want to hang out at the campground, Deception Pass State Park offers some nice hiking trails, dock fishing at Cranberry lake and surf fishing at the beach, kite flying, and good old fashioned beachcombing. If you're bold enough, hike up to the Deception Pass bridge and walk across it to the island in the middle to explore. The view from the bridge is awe-inspiring!  Deception Pass has some of the fastest tidal currents anywhere in the world. I like the suggestion of moving down the the beach during the day and setting up station down there. That may work for people that just want to hang out at the park. I'll bring some construction waste lumber for fires and we can get more chopped wood from the Host if needed.
This has been a favorite weekend every year for Kelli and I and we're sure you will make it one of your favorites too.
A previous year at this event. www.rv.net

Hi Rick,

The link worked for me at 1:00 AM.

We are in site 166. I don't know who has site 164.

The rest of the sites in that area are open.

Matt, have you ever been to the Farmhouse restaurant? They do a pretty decent turkey dinner and several mighty fine baked in house pies! This place should be a natural love for you. The PACCAR tour is also somethong that should be right up your alley if you've never seen it.

Be a good weekend if you're able to break away from the salt mine.

since i couldnt go with the camper to this gathering because of our sons spring break time lining up with these dates, i had thought about just a quick run in the car over to say hi and stay with a relative.   however, i realized that joanne will be at our daughters wedding shower on that saturday. if i want a warm home to come back to i will have to stay over here and listen to all the fun you will have.

*sigh*

Yes Rich,

Put your married blissful happiness for the rest of your life ahead of a rally event.

Really though.

With your family is where you should be. Best wishes for your daughter.

Jeff
I still remembered the cheese scalloped potatoes for breakfast at the restaurant.

Rich
this may be one case you should not try the old standby

It easier to ask for forgiveness
Then permission

Besides as we get older, it's more fun to go to weddings then funerals.
