the bus seats 17 passengers. the tour that i can reserve is a 3 hour tour
the tour...the western alpine tour.
if by chance that the going to the sun road is not open all the way it will still be the 3 hour tour. what they will do is go up the going to the sun road as far as they can, then they will head back and drive up camas road. that tour is the huckleberry mountain tour. so no matter what, its still a good tour.
the tour would start at 9:30 am on saturday june 23rd. the boarding spot is at lake mcdonald lodge. so you would drive from the resort into glacier national park to the lodge, entry fee to enter. its a short drive...remember, the rally is 3 miles from the gate. its no problem taking the tc to the lodge...in fact you can drive a bit further up the road before size restrictions take place.
the cost if we have 17 people...$33.12 per person. i can tell you that i will take 3 of the 17 seats for sure. the payment would be made via PAYPAL. its a great way to pay for it for everyones security and privacy. i would have to have payment by april 1st. i must prepay for the bus. if there was more than 17 seats needed i then can book a 2nd bus.

"Are there vehicle size restrictions on the Going-to-the-Sun Road?
Yes. To help reduce congestion, vehicle size restrictions are in effect. Vehicles, and vehicle combinations, longer than 21 feet(including bumpers) or wider than 8 feet (including mirrors), are prohibited between Avalanche Campground and the Rising Sun picnic area parking. Vehicle and vehicle combinations over 10 feet in height may have difficulty driving west from Logan Pass to the Loop, due to rock overhangs. Stock trucks and trailers are able to access Packers Roost on the west, and Siyeh Bend on the east."
another reason why i have talked about doing the red tour bus for those interested. besides that fact that it would be fun regardless of rig size.

We may make it. Kelli just can't tell if she can get those days off just yet. Her company is going through them changes and not sure what will happen with her yet. If we make it, we'll be wanting to get on the bus tour too. I'll keep you posted. It will be nice to see the NATCOA members again.

i know what you mean about company changes. where i work was in the process of being bought out but the deal fell through last week. i was taking those days off regardless of the new company or not, but it sure puts my mind at ease that no ruffled feathers will be involved in those days off.

If I can get my daughter and grandson out of college this year,I plan on heading that way. I will make the trip into a trout fishing trip also if I can locate a good stream there or between Middle Tennessee and there.
there are SO many excellent fishing opportunities in montana. that is way too big of a list to post here. one of the favorite spots that i hear about a lot is the yellowstone river. which if you would be coming through billings via I-90, is along the way. that or....have you ever watched the movie "a river runs through it"? that is filmed in missoula montana. there are 3 great fishing rivers there, the clark fork, bitterroot and blackfoot rivers. of course there are many lakes, streams and rivers there in the glacier area also. not to mention, the resort is on a lake. kokanne and rainbow are in that lake.
i should also add.....if you are bringing a boat, the resort has a boat launch and slips. we get the discount for boat slip fees too.
