It took a while to find the way back . . . lets answer the questions :

I do have a question about travelling Europe that might be a dumb question. Is it hard to drive a full size American truck there? I always wonder because the mojority of trucks are much smaller and I imagine a tight squeeze on some roads, and parking lots, etc.The thought of touring Europe in a TC/slide-in/demountable seems like a wonderful idea. My parents have toured in cars a few times, but I think I'd prefer to camp.

Depends on where you wanna go. Some towns are really old and have narrow streets. But if you drive carfully . . no problem. And about the parking lots . . well . . when I go shopping and have my camper with me I always need 2 parking lots . . a friend of mine (Dodge Dually and a Lance) needs 4 . . but . . so what ??? If you are planning a trip . . . there is one company in the northern part of germany where you can rent pickup and cabin . . same cabin brand than mine, pickup is a 2500er Dodge (mostly) or Chevy with diesel engines. Prices are starting at 140 Euro (185 Dollar) per day but I think if you rent for more than 10 days you can talk about the price.

@narcodog
Well . . . I know serveral games where leather laces are very fine toys, even when you are out camping . . but I think if we go further here we should open a new topic . . in a different forum :D We dont use outside fasteners on european cabins. We use turnbuckels which are accessible from the inside of the cabin. Will try to provide you with a few pictures when I pick up my camper the next time.
Hang around with the big guys . . they know where the good food is

Are there any European camping forums in English?
We are planning a trip to Europe next June and renting an RV might be a nice option.
I was also wondring if there may be a possibility of a truck/camper swap similar to how they do house swaps.

Dick,
I really appreciated that side light of yours when I was parking my rig, and the graphics on your Lance definitely set it apart from the others.

Here is a shot of our 14 year old Snowbird.

Nice looking camper, Mike & Carole. Certainly doesn't look 14.

The interstate system of highways is fine for getting where you need to be in a hurry, but it's the road less traveled that is more enjoyable. Take in the scenery before life passes you by in a blur.
