I do have a question about travelling Europe that might be a dumb question. Is it hard to drive a full size American truck there? I always wonder because the mojority of trucks are much smaller and I imagine a tight squeeze on some roads, and parking lots, etc.The thought of touring Europe in a TC/slide-in/demountable seems like a wonderful idea. My parents have toured in cars a few times, but I think I'd prefer to camp.
Depends on where you wanna go. Some towns are really old and have narrow streets. But if you drive carfully . . no problem. And about the parking lots . . well . . when I go shopping and have my camper with me I always need 2 parking lots . . a friend of mine (Dodge Dually and a Lance) needs 4 . . but . . so what ??? If you are planning a trip . . . there is one company in the northern part of germany where you can rent pickup and cabin . . same cabin brand than mine, pickup is a 2500er Dodge (mostly) or Chevy with diesel engines. Prices are starting at 140 Euro (185 Dollar) per day but I think if you rent for more than 10 days you can talk about the price.
Well . . . I know serveral games where leather laces are very fine toys, even when you are out camping . . but I think if we go further here we should open a new topic . . in a different forum We dont use outside fasteners on european cabins. We use turnbuckels which are accessible from the inside of the cabin. Will try to provide you with a few pictures when I pick up my camper the next time.
