When I hit the "back" arrow button on my browser to return to previous page it is immediate!

When clicking into a new page, forum or topic there is a slight lag time (3-5 seconds or so...) but it is overall much faster. I am not going to complain about this lag time but it was instantaneous in the past. Previewing a reply is taking about this same 3-5 seconds (whereas it used to be instant.)

Please don't take this as complaining... just feedback... It is a great improvement!

Much easier to navigate this website now.

When you navigate using the "back" arrow button you may be loading a page (or part of a page) that has been cached locally on your computer. When you click on a button or link to go to a new page, it has to make the request to the server, load the page and then return the page to you. That's why it takes longer. Those are the response times that we are interested in.

Great feedback. All info is helpful!

I don't know a couple of people have mentioned that. It shows others as online. I will report it as a bug. oddly enough when I first replied to this thread it showed me as offline, after I just edited it, it showed me as on.

After sampling the forum yesterday and today at both locations... it is generally faster than usual. The biggest lag time I notice is when I pull down my browser list to initially log on to NATCOA.

But I do not see that as too much of an issue as I needed to get another cup of joe.

Well we got a bit of a brush off on the trouble ticket, but they may have found a problem & do not want to admit it.

80% of the time this forum is very slow to load.
I'm on a wireless connection that works like a charm on all other sites.
Sometimes when I come here I hit the return button because it's to frustrating. It takes to long.
Is this the reason there are only a few posters here? Maybe it is.

If we had more members we could afford to pay for dedicated server service which woudl make this forum run at its top speed all the time. We are in a bit of a rock & hard place. Because we are a tax exempt non profit we cannot accept much in the any of advertising revenue like rv.net for example, so we rely on memberships to cover our costs. Neither do we want to become commercial. A dedicated server is about $60 a month which would speed this up considerably. We are close to be able to justify that, but not quite there yet.

This forum is unique in that we give manufacturers a voice. Once again a chicken & egg situation, to attract them to do that we need more users.

If the speed could remain as it is now it then it would be great! Only logging on is slow, but I can live with that.

If it were to go back to the way it was last week, then that pace would be unacceptable.

Since manufacturers have a voice here, maybe they might want to sponsor this site financially.
Why not. It's to their advantage to see a truck camper forum on the internet.

They do, we have several corporate members. Unfortunately with the downturn we have lost a few as they went out of business. 11 in total. As far as TC manufacturers, we have Lance, AF, S&S, Northstar, Alaskan, Adventurer. We lost ones like Snowriver, Bigfoot, Okanagan as they went out of business. Companies like Torklift & Happijac are members, plus a few dealers.

There are others that have just not paid yet for this year. We are being a little more flexible due to the current conditions.

That sounds interesting.
You folks meet here:

That's us there with our previous camper at the Walmart parking lot.
The next morning we picked up the new Lance at GetAwayRV.

We will think about it, we'r familiar with the roads you are taking.
Our home base is in the Cariboo. If we decide to go we would probably meet you guys in Cache Creek.
Next week we hope to go up the Cassiar with the new Dodge.
Not sure when we get back...........
