Carol and I took a little trip of 9000 miles this past summer and had our two goldens with us. While at times it seemed somewhat like a sardine can I guess it wasn't to bad because my wife said she felt more at home in the camper than our house. I also realize that I would go before the dogs

Have wanted a dog for years but wife kept protesting. Being on the caravan I was even more convinced. All of the dogs on caravan were so well behaved and having a great time. We had last dog over fourteen years and wife was holding the line this time  The fix came when kids got me a pup and came over and had grandkids give it to me  Grandma was fit to be tied. She has softened quickly and just the dog is sleeping in the dog house at this time :D

Wile on vacation this year I made and observation. In general it seems that the larger the RV the smaller the Dog :)

And the smaller the RV the larger the Dog. We have a Six Pac and our two hounds (Ridgebacks) are in the 90lb range.

We've really enjoyed having them with us. Only problem we've encountered was getting the older of the two into and out of the TC. We bought a ramp, but he looks at us like we're nuts..."I'm not walking that gangplank for nuttin!" he's thinking, I'm quite sure. He is happier with the stairs, but I have nightmares of legs caught, so I enforce the ramp.

Also, we're trying to figure out how to bring our African Grey Parrot with us. Concerns are 1)securing cage 2) controlling temps if we're not there 3) mosquito control for her

If anyone has suggestions.....

We usually take our 115 pound Rotweiler/Golden Retriever mix, and our 60 pound Chow. They are 10 and 11.5 so getting in and out is a chore, and we have to set the dinette bed down for them to sleep on. Have thought about a ramp but have yet to spring for one. I have to lift them in and out when the TC is on the truck. One more reason I always take off the TC if we are staying more than one night.
2006 Lance 1191 - loaded, on 2005 Chevy Kodiak/4500 4WD. Average GVW 18,250 pounds not counting trailer.

We took two 7-month old cats - brothers.
They're becoming too rambuctious now. . .last trip they stripped some of the veneer off the wall paneling.
Now my wife says I gotta' fix it.

Cats are not slobs.

Usually my wife, and Elvis our dog
Family health problem, necessitated us to give up our TC and Truck and purchase a 2006 Pleasureway Plateau Class B, 22 foot motorhome, on a Dodge Sprinter with 2.7 diesel engine, fully self contained with Onan gen.

Formerly We had an 01 Ford F250 SuperCab, V10, and 2004 Lance 1010 Camper.

Jerry & Roberta, and Dog Bandit

We will always be TC'ers at heart. Our first TC was a 1964 Siesta Cabover Camper on a 1964 Ford 3/4 Ton Truck.
